Initial Applications of Carbon-Free NH3

Ammonia (NH3) is an extremely versatile compound used in many industries and sectors. While primarily used as a fertilizer in the agricultural setting it is also used as a key element in feedstock, the production of chemicals and textiles and as a refrigerant for cooling systems.
Future applications for carbon-free NH3 will include a fuel for generating electricity and a fuel for replacing gasoline, diesel and other fossil fuels in internal combustion engines Additionally, NH3 is the most efficient and low-cost way to store and transport hydrogen. Traditional ammonia manufacturing currently exists on a massive scale, in centralized facilities and results in some of the world’s most concentrated CO2 emissions. With 200 million metric tonnes of NH3 consumed per year, traditional NH3 is responsible for significant greenhouse gas emissions. FuelPositive’s Carbon-Free NH3 technology changes that completely.
